What does off-grid mean here?
The cabin runs on solar power stored in batteries and harvested rainwater. Please use both mindfully, switch off air conditioning before bed and when heading out, and leave high-powered appliances such as hairdryers at home.
Can I switch off completely?
There is intentionally no Wi-Fi. Optus reception is generally good; Telstra can be patchy. Download your arrival information and guest guide before you travel. Books, games and yoga mats make lovely alternatives to a screen.
What should I bring?
A small overnight bag, walking shoes, something warm, a water bottle, bug spray and a good book. Pack a raincoat and waterproof shoes for winter. Bring food for simple meals and keep the small fridge in mind.
Can we explore the vineyards or light a fire?
Enjoy the view, but please stay out of the vine rows: shoes and clothing can spread vineyard pests and diseases. Firepit use is seasonal, only when permitted, and subject to current restrictions and your host’s instructions.
Where is Slow Cabin?
In Penwortham, in the Skilly Hills of South Australia’s Clare Valley. Your confirmed booking will include arrival directions. Beyond the cabin, make time for the valley’s food, wine and walking trails.
How do I book a direct stay?
Choose your dates in the booking calendar below and follow the steps shown by RentalCal. Review the total price and terms before proceeding, and look for your booking confirmation. You can also email Edwina for help; an email enquiry does not reserve the cabin.
What are the booking terms?
Ask Edwina about minimum stays, check-in and check-out times, pet requests and cancellation terms. These will be confirmed with your quote before you commit to a booking.
